Our Story
It all started with sobriety and then seeing a need for more activities in the beverage industry that did not revolve around alcohol. We wanted to create a space for other sober community members to call home!
U Brew Coffee Co opens up the world of specialty coffee to the individual. It provides an elevated coffee experience through a hands-on, multi-sensory journey with coffee.
U Brew would be considered upscale/luxurious but welcoming and open to all. We are about community through coffee. Bringing people together to DO coffee not just drink it. To help them find their next favorite bean and take control of their cup.
The focus in on the experience, but with a bit of education and knowledge sprinkled throughout to guide individuals on how to make their best cup of coffee.
Our Mission
We travel the country, meeting with small roasters and trying their beans. We "cup" those beans and if we consistently grade them above an 80 (specialty) we cycle them into rotation. A different Roaster spotlighted each month, with 5 unique beans from each Roaster.
Those beans are used in our bookable guided journeys which include the Cupping (a coffee tasting paired with fruits, nuts, chocolates, and sweets) and a hands-on Brew session where guests grind and brew their own coffee while learning techniques.
We also sell the beans whole for individuals to experience self-guided at home in various sizes of 5 or 10 packs. The variety of beans are sampled blind and a QR code is provided on each bag taking you to a landing page.
This page provides information about the beans profiles and origin, the Roaster, and a link to purchase full bags of beans directly from the Roaster to support their business as well. We believe in supporting the community and take nothing from the Roasters!
We also minimize waste from our classes by up cycling the spent coffee grounds and unused beans. Coffee is a journey for the senses but it doesn't have to end at your cup. We make Coffee Mug candles (a candle in a literal coffee mug that can be used after finishing the candle) in coffee themed scents and body scrubs made from the Spent coffee grounds from our classes, raw sugar, and 100% therapeutic grade essential oils.
